Why this experiment
Risk heatmaps are a common reference point in GRC, but they aren’t the only way to understand risk. This experiment steps back from the heatmap entirely to explore different ways risk data might be organized, surfaced, and scanned as complexity increases.
The core problem
Many existing risk visualization patterns struggle to scale with higher data density and shifting context. As a result, important signals can be hard to spot, compare, or prioritize—especially when users need to move beyond a single view to understand what’s happening.
